When I'm flying in FS9, I use FSNav as my "moving map" display on a second monitor. Then I export the flightplan to FS9, FSNav, and several third-party FMC add-ons, like the PMDG series. I use FS Build to build my flight plans without having to start FS9 first. ) The graphics display in FS Build is not as good as FSNav though.īoth programs allow importing/exporting flightplans from/to numerous other programs, so you can build a flightplan and export it to FS9 (the GPS), other flight planning programs, and numerous third-party FMCs. During major fly-ins on VATSIM, we get lots of people who log in then just "sit" there for 10 or 15 minutes while they are building their flightplan to send to us. This actually can help the controllers on VATSIM, as you won't be a "target" sitting on the ground on their scopes for 15 minutes before you "do" anything. Once you export the flightplan to other places, you can load FS9, log into VATSIM, and just "Send" your flightplan immediately. You can build the flightplan before starting FS9 and having your aircraft sit on the ground burning up your fuel while you construct the flightplan (you can of course avoid this by starting your flight "cold and dark" without the engines running). This is very convenient, especially for online flying like on VATSIM. The worst thing I don't like about it is you can't use it to build a flight plan without running FS9.it's a module within FS9 itself.įS Build allows you to build flight plans without having to have FS9 running. Downsides to it are anytime you make a scenery change in FS9 (an add-on or deletion, including something as minor as an AFCAD file) you need to re-compile the FSNav database, which can take a while (but is really only a minor inconvenience). And I find it easier to use to get quick "updates" while I'm flying, like VOR and ILS frequencies (if I'm too lazy to pull out the chart).you just hold your mouse pointer over the "item" and everything is displayed. It also works as a very good "moving map" display when you are running it. All work done with Flight 1's AFX program and Instant Scenery.Įxtract the two files AFX_KLEB_JC.bgl and KLEB_JC.bgl into your Addon Scenery/Scenery folder, re-start FSX and enjoy.Depends on your preferences in a lot of cases.įSNav works fine for building flightplans, etc. Updates made using AirNav diagrams and Google Earth to be as accurate as possible. Those require the Acceleration Pack to be installed. All objects are stock FSX so no additional object libraries are needed except for the cars in the parking lots.
I use Ultimate Terrain and FSGenesis landclass but they are not required. Special thanks to Matthew Miller for requesting the airport and for sending me information and pictures. Added the terminal and parking for Colgan Air and also GA parking on the NW ramp. As in real life aviation many users are aiming at conducting their. The Nav Data itself is supplied by Lufthansa Systems and is used in real world aviation by more than 180 airlines throughout the world. A multi-platform installer is provided and all original files are saved and can be restored.
